Ngoonjook 36
Ngoonjook, Australian First Nations' Journal foregrounds research relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. 'Ngoonjook' is a Kungarakan language word which means 'listen up' or 'news'. The journal first came out in July 1998 and was published regularly until 2010 with issue no. 35. After a significant gap Ngoonjook is now revived with issue no. 36, the Postgraduate Issue, which is edited by BIITE PhD graduate Dr David Hardy and includes contributions from past and current BIITE postgraduate researchers, past and current BIITE staff, as well as by BIITE Honorary Doctorate recipients. This issue is dedicated to the late Dr Rosalie Kunoth-Monks and to Dr Jeanie Bell after whom a BIITE postgraduate scholarship was recently named. This issue also pays respect to the late Dr Kathy Mills whose poetry is included, and who passed away while the issue went to print.
Ngoonjook 36 is produced as an open-access journal. A limited number of hardcopy editions are available along with free access to a digital version available at: http://batchelorpress.com/sites/default/files/Noongjook_36_digital.pdf
